CUBA TROPICAL Christos
Morfitis and his group
This is the name
of the Latin music group of Christos Morfitis, to which he is
the pianist, singer and musical director. This group is unique
in Cyprus in its style. It performs Latin dance music:
|
“Musica Cubana” – original Cuban
music: salsa, “son cubano”, chachacha, bolero, mambo,
rumba, afrocuban, Latin-jazz,
and other Latin-american styles like cumbia,
merengue, Argentinean tango etc.
|
Music is
orchestrated according to the Cuban style, and performed with
the same energy and flavor. It includes singing (Spanish) and
choro, piano montuno, percussions (tumbadoras – timbales), bass,
saxophone and trumpet. The number of the musicians is five (5).
This can come with an excellent presentation of a dancing group
by a Cuban female dancer and professor of dance, (if requested).
The whole presentation is enjoyable both to the ear and the eye,
and extra care is taken for the smallest detail. This group is
ideal for strong, energetic nights with a Latin flavor, but at
the same time for a romantic Caribbean atmosphere. This group
can also perform concerts and large music productions.
*Due to the
nature and originality of this group, it can only come in its
original form, shape, and size. It is only for complete Latin
nights and themes, and should not be confused to smaller
formations in which Cuban music can be included as part of the
program.
**Other
formations can be quartet, trio, duet or one person, depending
on the style of the event, and also the musical needs that the
event might have (it is different if music will have a
background secondary character, in which the number of musicians
can be smaller, or if it will have a more prominent part in the
event, like a party, in which the number of musicians can be
bigger-more energy). The number of the guests or the kind of
music played can also affect the formation, so this will need to
be decided in advance, after evaluating the requirements of the
event, the wish of the client and before closing the deal.
***These
formations are more flexible into moving from one style of music
to the other, like:
|
Cuban music, Jazz, blues, soul, funk, tango,
English-American pop (ballads, reggae, Rock&Roll, twist,
disco etc.) or a variety of the above. |
****For jazz
concerts we strongly suggest the Jazz Quartet, which
makes a musical voyage through swing, Latin-jazz,
Brazilian jazz, blues, funk-jazz, fusion etc. The energy
produced by the musical interaction of the musicians but also
the saddle way in which it is performed, makes it suitable for
other events like parties, receptions etc.
